A big (kinda) list of little details this week in Troop 286…
BIG MUDDY DISTRICT SERVICE PROJECT
This Saturday, April 23rd, 8am at Dyer Park we’ll be doing some repairs, prep, and painting bleachers at the Rodeo Ring. Scouts will need their water bottles, work gloves, hat, etc. And (and this is the ONLY time you’ll get this out of me)… Wear the worst clothes they’ve got! We’ll be painting so only wear what you can afford to get paint on! A pizza party is provided for lunch too.
Adults, if you can bring a paint scraper or two and some small tools (we’re replacing some of the wooden “skids”, so we need to turn some wrenches on those bolts) it would be helpful.
What can I say… We knocked this one out of the park! The Troop sold over $4,300 and (pending final delivery) will have earned almost $1300!!! That’s gonna be a big boost for the Troop, and for our Scouts Scout Accounts!
PLANT SALE PICKUP DAY
Thursday, May 5th is our Plant Sale Pickup Day. I have two adults that have volunteered for the “day shift” where we’ll accept the delivery, check it against our order, and separate it into the individual orders. We’ll pitch in for a couple Casey’s Pizzas for lunch and will “babysit” til our Scouts can come help after school. No formal Scout Meeting that nite. But, we do want to see all our Scouts in full Class A’s for photos with the plant orders, helping to load the cars, etc. I need two more adults! Let me know tonite!
JUNE CANOE TRIP
We’re all set with Living Waters Ministry for our June Canoe Trip. June 10-12. Living Waters is providing the canoes, pfd’s, paddles, etc. and our campsite (including firewood) for our trip. They even provide a guide that will be heading down the Niangua river with us.
We need to see who’s coming TONITE (Scouts and Adults) so I can turn in some numbers to Living Waters.
That’s it for this week! See you tonight!
Yours in Scouting
